从句:
- Complex sentence:combines an independent clause with one or more dependent clauses. A complex sentence always has a subordinating conjunction(after,although,because, since, when) or a relative pronoun(that, which, who)
- complex sentence with a noun clause(eg.I think that you are absolutely right.)
- complex sentence with a adjective clause. An adjective clause is a dependent clause that functions like an adjective; an adjective modifies or describes a noun.
- complex sentence with a adverb clause. An adverb clause is a dependent clause that functions like an adverb; an adverb modifies or describes a verb. eg.When the food arrived, the children ate everything.
- complex sentence with a relative clause(eg. A good friend is a person who accepts you for yourself)
- complex sentence with an adverbial clause.An adverbial clause is a dependent clause that functions as an adverb; that is, the entire clause modifies a verb, an adjective, or another adverb.
- Compound sentence: contains 2 independent clauses joined by a coordinating conjunction (and, but, for, nor, or, so, yet)(eg. Scott was playing soccer, so Mary went to the beach)
